Material For Chole Tikki Chaat Recipe

  • 1 Cup - Kabuli chana (chickpeas)
  • 5 medium-sized - Boiled potatoes
  • 1/4 cup - Boiled Chana Dal
  • 1 tsp - Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp - Red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Asafoetida
  • 1 tsp - Cumin powder 
  • 1 tsp - Garam masala
  • 2 tbsp - Gram flour
  • 2 tsp Amchoor
  • 1 Cup Bariq Sev (Bhujia / Nylon Sev)
  • 2 to 3 tbsp Oil
  • 1 to 2 piece Finely Chopped Green Chilli
  • Chaat masala
  • Tamarind Sauce
  • Green chutney
  • Whipped Curd
  • Finely Chopped Tomato
  • Finely Chopped Onions 
  • Coriander (finely chopped)

Method of making Chole:

  • First, heat 1 tablespoon/tablespoon oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot, add cumin seeds and fry it well.
  • Add 1/4 tsp asafoetida and 2 tbsp gram flour in it.
  • Keep the flame low and roast well until it turns a nice golden/brown color.
  • Add a glass of water to it and stir well on medium heat till it comes to a boil. Have to run well so that there are no lumps in it at all.
  • When boiled, add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp red chili powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp coriander powder, 1/4 tsp garam masala, and 1/4 tsp The mango powder will be added and boiled and thickened slightly.
  • Add boiled chickpeas and let it cook on a medium flame for 1 minute. In this way, the chickpeas will be prepared.

How to make Potato Tikki:

  • Will mash the boiled potatoes well. Now we will grind boiled gram lentils in a grinder well, do not add water at all. Adding gram lentils will make the Tikki soft and crispy.
  • Pour the chana dal into the mashed potatoes and add a little mango powder, 1 finely chopped green chili, cumin powder, 1/4 tsp garam masala, 1/2 tsp red chili powder, salt to taste Add a little chaat masala and coriander and mix it well by hand.
  • After this, apply a little oil in the hand and take a large number of spices from the potato mixture and make it round. Pressing it lightly with your hand will give it the shape of Tikki. (If you have a mold for making tikkis, you can make them too). Similarly, all the tikkis have to be prepared.
  • Now heat 1 to 1.5 tbsp/tablespoon oil on a pan/fry pan. It has to be spread well all over the pan/fry pan. When the oil is hot, the potato tikkis are roasted over it (shallow frying).
  • Place all the tikkis on this pan/fry pan and cook on a slow medium flame. Shallows fry until light brown and crisp on one side and then turn over on the other side. In this way, it will turn and cook well.

Tips


For making Chole: Soak 1 cup of chana in water for 8 to 10 hours and put some salt in it. Then prepare chickpeas by planting 5 to 6 cities.

To boil chana dal: Add 1.5 cups of water to 1/4 cup of lentils and prepare 4 to 5 cities. The remaining water will drain.

For serving:

  • Firstly put 3 - 4 tablespoons of chickpeas on a plate. Will put 2 potato tikkis on it. Then spices and chutney will be put on it.
  • First, tamarind chutney, then green chutney (add the chutney as per your taste), then pour the curd properly to spread it on the whole plate. You will add finely chopped onions, finely chopped tomatoes, finely chopped green coriander, a little fine sev (bhujia), a little chaat masala.
